Book Club - Hannah Lavery

Book Club

During the Nationwide Lockdown, we have seen a rise in not only banana bread but in online book clubs too. The Hannah Lavery Team has been sharing their recommendations amoung one another as well as on our Instagram Page. We have now included these in our online Journal too. We will be adding to this blog post every week with some new recommendations and reviews.

Ta-Nehisi Coates, Between the World and Me

- A tiny book that will completely change how you see the world. Written by a new father to his young son so it's intimate and beautiful and intensely enjoyable to read, but will also make you a better person.

Trevor Noah, Born a Crime

- A stunningly beautiful, fierce, fast-paced book by our cleverest comedian, about being brought up in South Africa by a woman with such an interesting life that she deserves many more books written about her.

Deborah Frances-White, The Guilty Feminist

- A brilliant book about why we want men and women to be treated equally, but also why we feel weird about it. It is written by a comedian so it's too funny.

Dolly Alderton, Everything I Know About Love

- A snack of a book, you'll eat it all up. A memoir that makes the little things about growing up a young woman in our times really meaningful. I refuse to tell you how much I related.
